Nonverbal communication of Dominance and Prestige

This line of research, led by Zak Witkower, examines the nonverbal behaviors used communicate high rank in the form of dominance and prestige (see Cheng, Tracy, Foulsham, Kingstone, & Henrich, 2013; Cheng, Tracy, & Henrich, 2010 for reviews of and prior research on these concepts). In related past research, we have demonstrated that there are distinct vocal cues related to dominance (Cheng, Tracy, Ho, & Henrich, 2016). In current work we are analyzing the distinct nonverbal behavioral signatures associated with these distinct forms of high rank.
